Every Friday, the truck was there when I needed my sweet fix. My co-workers always teased me when I come back to my desk with my treats. I was sadden when I found out that Dessert Truck lost their permit. </div><br /><div></div><div></div><div>A year later, the owner of Dessert Truck opened a place in Lower East Side. The menu didn't change; however, the prices did. A vanilla creme brulee used to be $5, now it is $6. The cafe is easy to miss, if you pass by it. The white etching of DT is printed on the glass door. Once you walk in, the smell of fresh coffee hits your nose. The menu is listed on a blackboard on the wall. The place has a few small coffee tables with a long bench and some round chairs. The long bench has these cushions tied on by two belt straps. </div><br /><div></div><div></div><div>Now, the desserts.... omg....heaven! I ordered the warm chocolate bread pudding with vanilla custard sauce. I really like the contrast between hot and cold in my mouth. The chocolate bread pudding was moist and sweet. The vanilla custard sauce was milky and yummy. My friend had the warm brioche donut holes with nutella filling. She gave me a bite. It reminds me of japanese verison of zeppole. It was crispy yet not oily. It was covered with granulated sugar. When you bite into it, the warm nutella oozed out of it. It is unbelievable that 3 little donut holes are quite filling.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>My prediction is that I will be going there again and again. It's a great place to meet a friend for coffee. </div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXkH2kvP35x6CzfaqkL2DhtzZA8-p0XZPjVW2Jyl0jgLzFqQqOvEs6wJMTS8Q_7UPgjiZ_E8cBgN5lR5gb0I3Cp9AgeqkP7itsD5ccUAV_c3ZZYVkSBJqgLMn_POsFyR5vO1iiZ9fqFOCz/s1600/moltenchocolate.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5489181185703839826" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXkH2kvP35x6CzfaqkL2DhtzZA8-p0XZPjVW2Jyl0jgLzFqQqOvEs6wJMTS8Q_7UPgjiZ_E8cBgN5lR5gb0I3Cp9AgeqkP7itsD5ccUAV_c3ZZYVkSBJqgLMn_POsFyR5vO1iiZ9fqFOCz/s320/moltenchocolate.jpg" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaBac2QuAhPx_wFlUZRY8deQQtJy8Ehu0zEKRlx8wb9uLSpT6BVplcANa4n3oPW5ryzzyVXBRVWAmnwyhLFn4bX9V33tAyckhfhc8oQqiqTAl9qFfWQFRcuiqHd-DLoJ-AMJINvG5i2qMB/s1600/donuts.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 240px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5489182515317163730" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaBac2QuAhPx_wFlUZRY8deQQtJy8Ehu0zEKRlx8wb9uLSpT6BVplcANa4n3oPW5ryzzyVXBRVWAmnwyhLFn4bX9V33tAyckhfhc8oQqiqTAl9qFfWQFRcuiqHd-DLoJ-AMJINvG5i2qMB/s320/donuts.jpg" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUAdVx8SfV6NaWTNJ7ySYRlWi4lpzWqpaKthhzYr87sINsSTT1jb_6V3ef0tDtwQ2FYAO4of8t8-ek-a6azaQGdSlOycpgmlRpKAZb67o-4dMdv6yN5MH6TZ177LjkgAXv4yH7CBnCIvxO/s1600/donutsandbag.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5489182863563531362" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUAdVx8SfV6NaWTNJ7ySYRlWi4lpzWqpaKthhzYr87sINsSTT1jb_6V3ef0tDtwQ2FYAO4of8t8-ek-a6azaQGdSlOycpgmlRpKAZb67o-4dMdv6yN5MH6TZ177LjkgAXv4yH7CBnCIvxO/s320/donutsandbag.jpg" /></a> </div></div></div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091551540149130602.post-11896787848880030382010-05-10T20:40:00.000-07:002010-07-01T23:00:36.839-07:00Stand<span style="font-family:courier new;"><strong>Stand</strong></span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;"><strong>24 East 12th Street</strong></span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;"><strong>(between University Place and 5th Avenue)</strong></span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;"><strong>New York, New York</strong></span><br /><br /><div><div><div>Once you walk into this restaurant, you notice the picnic tables and the bar. Each table has ketchup and Japanese mayo. </div><div></div><div></div><div>This place is known for their milkshakes. I ordered a mini gourmet Reese Peanut Butter Cup. For appetizer, we shared a large order of sweet potato fries. For entree, I ordered a mushroom beef burger. My friend ordered the classic burger. </div><div></div><div></div><div>I have to admit my burger was pretty tasty. The juicy red beef was sandwich between two brioche bread. It has onion marmalade, lettuce and porcini sauce. My friend enjoyed her classic burger; they didn't skimp on the beef and it was prepared to perfection. Both burgers came with a side of fried pickles. It was pretty much their version of onion rings but pickles. I wish they gave us more. We LOVED the fries....it's a must, if you decide to go here. The fries were crunchy yet not greasy. It wasn't too salty and it comes with a side of sweet mustard dressing for dipping. </div><br /><div>I recommend the shakes...it was yummy. I would get it again but in a larger size. It's sweet but not overloaded with sugar. It was creamy and it hits the spot, if you crave something sweet. </div><div></div><div></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGZOz1pjBxv6YUI8eCljuAcbZAtFfeCVeqHdklrkN2_aN8Vz7CJamv7k62VcXX7OHgIwaZD6-UckKmHjeGjZFHBIV6AbHcG5RBRC3sj-S-aFtVvaGIwg4LynQh11XuglL69Qs0PiVXjiTP/s1600/IMG00044.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 321px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 260px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469860553479162338" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGZOz1pjBxv6YUI8eCljuAcbZAtFfeCVeqHdklrkN2_aN8Vz7CJamv7k62VcXX7OHgIwaZD6-UckKmHjeGjZFHBIV6AbHcG5RBRC3sj-S-aFtVvaGIwg4LynQh11XuglL69Qs0PiVXjiTP/s320/IMG00044.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZgk8LiSITMjkOr3TPRYXmPSS98-aoPZqxOXESVzMAeUc3wwE4HS_YykCSQfaj7Zzm9sa4nnMDTPiaE0qr2pXZkwzVpwSoBlSjWsGwzrlqBQViqri6SOS-_0c0rNge8NCZi9uS0KJqMcso/s1600/IMG00043.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469858989531502402" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZgk8LiSITMjkOr3TPRYXmPSS98-aoPZqxOXESVzMAeUc3wwE4HS_YykCSQfaj7Zzm9sa4nnMDTPiaE0qr2pXZkwzVpwSoBlSjWsGwzrlqBQViqri6SOS-_0c0rNge8NCZi9uS0KJqMcso/s320/IMG00043.jpg" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchBGonYaoZYE9fIwyVgvhHPpC7E6iI8DVQhqjvQCqmxRBPKnKvll2_XVv_lJ-aqhDPXYH7gOpxKhOuZO-lfAMkxyq-78msymfGwQhkTW3kHGiyuG6cHQ4ikkvwBoOGSntj1mQjJVXVCDm/s1600/IMG00046.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469860955401422290" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchBGonYaoZYE9fIwyVgvhHPpC7E6iI8DVQhqjvQCqmxRBPKnKvll2_XVv_lJ-aqhDPXYH7gOpxKhOuZO-lfAMkxyq-78msymfGwQhkTW3kHGiyuG6cHQ4ikkvwBoOGSntj1mQjJVXVCDm/s320/IMG00046.jpg" /></a><br /><br /></div><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /></div><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div> </div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091551540149130602.post-3130700161907031542010-01-31T20:02:00.000-08:002010-01-31T21:46:15.645-08:00Park Slope Chip ShopPark Slope Chip Shop<br />383 5th Avenue<br />Brooklyn, NY 11215<br />(718) 244-7746<br />chipshopnyc.com <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXbyu1cUcs6qeCSIZjImEL_OsLzL5BcT2I8dDFHJYjHcXgW6RbASKEljUSqpEzXUd8VkKlgF3EpZTDwO4l7c1xfbZ57svLyc4SX3tLVIu7lyC7Y9EHG4jOq5UeXe_RbSHW_7tH34E0P9jQ/s1600-h/chipshop.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 242px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433134208251680114" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXbyu1cUcs6qeCSIZjImEL_OsLzL5BcT2I8dDFHJYjHcXgW6RbASKEljUSqpEzXUd8VkKlgF3EpZTDwO4l7c1xfbZ57svLyc4SX3tLVIu7lyC7Y9EHG4jOq5UeXe_RbSHW_7tH34E0P9jQ/s320/chipshop.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Once you walk into this quaint little restaurant, you are transported to London. Fish & Chips, Fried Snickers and Fried Twinkies. YES! A heart attack waiting to happen. </p><p>We ordered a kid size Fish & Chips. Boy! It was large enough to share! The cod outer layer was crunchy yet not oily. When you bite into the fish, it tastes fresh, like it came right out of the sea. The tartar sauce was sweet and salty. It was perfect with the fish. The fries was also crunchy and favorable. You didn't even need to add salt.
